Halloween Safety Tips
27 Oct 2022
The days are getting shorter and Halloween is just around the corner. Many kids will be running around and trick or treating so here are 3 eye-related safety tips to have a happy and safe Halloween.
Visibility - make sure your little one is wearing a high-visibility sticker somewhere on their costumes. Come by our clinic to pick up some stickers free of charge. Wearing costumes or shoes that light up is another great way to stay visible.
Decorative contact lenses - it’s fun and exciting to wear colored contact lenses for parties and bashes but please make sure to remember that a contact lens is a medical device and that you should only wear them if they were fitted for your eyes by a professional.
If you are having issues after wearing contact lenses please do not hesitate to contact us for an evaluation as these visits are covered under your medical services plan and we would be glad to help you.
Fireworks - make sure to have permits and safety equipment ready when you’re setting off fireworks. Eye protection is strongly recommended when setting off fireworks and is also recommended for kids with sparklers as the tiny bits could fly off and end up in an eye.
Our clinic is giving out small treat bags to patients who visit us on Halloween (costume or no costume) so stop by and say hi.
Have a spooky one!
